The White Hart Hotel Lincoln is a wonderful place to hold a wedding reception. It has it all – fantastic location, beautiful rooms, attentive staff and lots of lovely places for your wedding photography. As a Lincoln Wedding Photographer I always am delighted when I get asked to photograph a wedding there!
Emily and Mike held their wedding reception at The White Hart Hotel recently. However, their marriage ceremony was to be held at the Central Methodist Church down in the High Street. This posed a bit of a problem for me when they came to discuss their wedding last year. The church was important to them, but they wanted to have their group photos taken up near the cathedral. The logistics of getting guests from the High Street through all the traffic in Lincoln and up to the cathedral – and parked -seemed challenging. So I suggested to Emily that they might want to consider hiring a coach to transport all the guests – who were mostly staying at the White Hart – from the hotel – to the church – and back again. This idea was greeted with enthusiasm and sure enough, on the day two Sleafordian coaches lined up waiting take all the guests to the church. The guests were all thrilled and spirits were very high on the coach. In fact as I left Emily at the hotel with her bridesmaids so that I could catch the coach she mentioned she felt like she was missing out by not going on it with us!
This is a simple idea but one that works wonderfully well particularly in busy city centres where parking for guests can be a problem. We were able to get all the guests back up to the cathedral promptly, allowing us to get the photographs that Emily and Mike wanted done quickly and guests were then able to walk back to the White Hart to enjoy the champagne and canapes whilst we finished off taking the photos of the bride and groom. Once back at the hotel we were able to go up onto the balcony to take more shots of the couple against the stunning backdrop of the cathedral. It is a shot that has finished off many an album and always gets lovely comments!
