Last Saturday was probably the worst weather February could throw at you. So I was very grateful Kerrie and Darren had opted for a wedding at the gorgeous, quaint Bull Hotel in the middle of Peterborough. The great thing about civil ceremonies in hotels is there is no dodging the rain while you travel from church to reception – and in February that matters a lot!
Quaint and cosy makes for lots of low level atmospheric lighting, so as weddings go it was a tricky one! Kerrie was such a bubbly bride – good fun and full of smiles, even though she cheerfully admitted wearing a dress and high shoes was not normally her! Darren seemed more preoccupied about what his best woman (younger sister Susan) would say about him in her speech and the relief on his face afterwards was very obvious! The gang from the O’Neills pub were in high spirits – any coincidence that the hotel was bang opposite the Peterborough O’Neills?? A big thank you to Assistant Manager Dave and his team at the hotel for being so accomodating to me and the guests – it made it a very enjoyable day.
